March 20 was the International Day of Happiness,
this year's theme is 'Happier Together'.
The focus is on what we have in common,
rather than what divides us. More people surprisingly are feeling lonely despite social media connecting people every day it doesn't replace the instinctive need for real face to face human interaction and tends to create a sense of FOMO - fear of missing out.

1. Give & Do
Giving and doing things to help others will not only make them feel good, you'll be amazed how good that makes you feel too! It can be as simple as holding the door open for someone you know or a stranger, to saying thank you, or giving someone a sincere compliment will easily lift their spirits.
2. Relate & Connect
Put down your device and spend some device free quality time with friends and family. Spend time in the moment and simply enjoy spending and sharing time together. Practice mindful listening and let them know you care.
3. Exercise & Self Care
Exercise and taking care of yourself will make you feel great both mentally and physically and help you to be at your best for others. Getting outdoors in nature will lift your spirits and doing it with others too is a great way to unwind, have some fun and connect with existing friends or make new friends.
4. Mindfulness & Gratitude
Be aware, be thankful and take time to literally smell the flowers and take notice. Eat mindfully and be grateful for what you have today not what you want to have. Live in the moment. Know what makes you happy and do more of it!
Be positive and understanding, don't criticise or judge others. Be comfortable with who you are and have an opened mind. The more accepting you are of yourself, the less you care what others think, and the more open your mind becomes and more accepting you will be of others.
